Summary
The traditional context of analytic philosophy laid the foundation for Nelson Goodman’s method of “logical analysis” of artistic discourse, and the unique perspective of “worldmaking” provided him with a path of “general semiotics” that realized scope expansion and functional transcendence. Based on this, Goodman made a semiotic reinterpretation and functional definition of art by changing the question from "what is art" to "when is art". In addition, because art, science, and philosophy are incorporated into the practice process of "worldmaking" as a way of "worldmaking", it is endowed with the epistemological significance of "promoting understanding". Finally, in the form of "the epistemological turn of art (aesthetics)", the dual reconstruction of art and epistemology was realized.
